Jamie Martinez
(vocals, upright/electric bass, tuba)
I've been performing and recording all kinds of music for 20 years, including musical theater, marching band, reggae, country, R&B, latin, hip hop, rock, jazz, orchestral, symphonic, avant garde, wedding bands, dixieland, garage band, pop, pop bottles, brass quintet, and the list goes on. Coming from a musical family, I stumbled across the bass guitar in our house and fell in love. My school band required that I learn tuba as well, and the rest, as they say, is history. Thanks, Harry Vulgamore. My latest musical ambition, beyond being a Jelly Bean, is to play the jug. Preferably in the refined company of someone who plays the spoons and other fine dinnerware.
Playing with Jeanie B! is the icing on the cake of my musical career. Jeanie B! obviously loves her music and loves to perform, and she makes it fun for all of us. And of course, as a dad, it's great that my family enjoys it too.
If there's one thing better than playing with Jeanie B!, it's playing for the audience. Come to hear us play, and I'll listen to your tuba styling after the show. Seriously. Come and give the tuba a spin! I'll bring my jug.
